SPECIAL HAPPENINGS THIS WINTER QUARTER:
SOCK INNOVATION’S author, Cookie A will be here one day only, Sunday, January 31. Two
classes offered: Toe-Up Socks with gusset, and Traveling Stitches. See class description for more
information.
President’s Day Sale, Monday, February 15. Our annual sale will feature all yarns, needles,
fibers, books, and equipment marked at special sales prices ~ a sale you will not want to
miss!
EARTHUES, Michele Whiplinger will be here again to dazzle us with dyeing colors and her
expertise. This year we will learn all about INDIGO. The first day we will dye many colors to be
over dyed with indigo on the second day. This will be an information packed session, so come
ready to learn and play! April 30 and May 1. 10:00–5:00 each day, $145.
Our Elizabeth Zimmerman Study Group now meets twice per month! We have enjoyed
watching EZ DVD’s, sharing about our projects, and planning ahead. So far we have knitted the
Baby Surprise Jacket, Rib Warmer, and many of the different style hats. We meet on the 1st and
3rd Wednesday of each month. Come join us if you want to get a real experience of Elizabeth,
her story, knitting knowledge, and wisdom! Our group is fun, encouraging and we are learning
lots!
Our Weaving Group continues to meet the last Monday of each month. This is a group for
weavers of all levels to meet, and to plan to do projects together, for the purpose of learning and
supporting each other. Come join us! See Nancy to be added to the list!

Cookie A: Toe Up Socks with Gusset
Sunday, January 31, 10:00–1:00
Who says toe-up socks have to use a short row heel? Knitters with high insteps will be pleased to learn that it’s just as easy
to knit a toe-up sock with a gusset as it is to knit one top-down. Students will learn how to provisionally cast on, mirrored
increases, a yarn over short row method, how to use short rows to create a toe-up sock with gusset and heel flap, and how<
to do the sewn bind off. Students will complete one baby’s sized bootie with all the elements of a sock in class. Cookie A’s

Cookie A: Traveling Stitches
Sunday, January 31, 2:00–5:00
Learn how to add curves and angles to your knitting by using traveling stitches. We will go over the different methods for
making stitches travel, effects on the fabric and how to incorporate traveling stitches into a basic knitting pattern. Cookie
A’s book is available for purchase in our shop: “Sock Innovation.” It’s GREAT! See materials list.

A materials list will be provided for each class with your registration receipt, unless otherwise noted.
- Class fee must be paid in advance to register for classes, no later than 3 days prior to the start of the class. Cancellation of class by student must be prior to 3 days for refund. No refund for class if student cancelled within three days of the start of class.
- Minimum class enrollment : 3 students.
- Please arrive to class 10 minutes prior to the start of class, so class can begin on time.
- Materials list for the class will be provided to each student at the time of registration.
- Please gather/purchase your materials ahead of class time.
- Classes are structured for: (b) = beginner, (i) = intermediate, (a) = advanced.
Private Classes. We know that your times to take a class, and our times offering classes may not always coincide. We offer private class sessions to help accommodate any schedule. And sometimes, it's fun to schedule a class just for YOU and/or your friends! Private classes are $25.00 per hour for one person, $40.00 per hour for 2–3 people, and $55.00 for
4–6 people. Of course, the more the merrier, and you can share the hourly costs!
Groups that meet at the shop:
Knit Night every Tuesday from 5:30 - 8:00 PM. Bring your knitting, crocheting, or spinning projects to work on, bring your finished projects for sharing. Knit night is always a nice break from the routine to work on your projects among friends. Fabulous Group!
Knit Day every Wednesday from 12:00 – 3:00. Same as Knit night, just a great group of folks who like to get together and share about knitting projects. My motto: Come when you can, leave when you must!
Lace Group every THIRD Saturday from 10:00 – 2:00. I'll tell you, this group is not for the faint of heart! This is TATTING, and BOBBIN LACE in all forms, and beautiful! This group loves and shares the history of lace making, and also teaches lace making. If you are lucky, maybe you'll be here on the day, that the antique lace is pulled out and shared! WOW! What a group!
