Hello Knitters, Spinners, and Weavers!
Welcome Spring and Summer! Even though we had a very mild winter, it was still winter! Now, with all the flowers blooming, it helps me see color all over again, inspires me for summer knitting. Although I say knitting, I’ve been doing more spinning and weaving these days. Spinning lace weight for the EZ Pi Shawl, and tapestry weaving. I’ve been knitting smaller projects, with cotton and cotton blends for you to take a look at in the shop.
We have a large selection of cotton and cotton blends for your summer knitting. Rowan’s Pure Life and Indigo yarns, Blue Sky Alpaca Organic Cottons, Green Mt. Spinnery Wool Cotton Blend, 100% Cotton Chinelle, Mercerized Cotton from Plymouth, and more. Summer time is perfect for knitting smaller projects (so you don’t get hot with a big projects on your lap!), like mittens, gloves, hats. Elizabeth Zimmerman suggests that knitting the Pi Shawl in July is a perfect travel project.
Each month this season we have something special in store for you:
May: LYS Tour, May 19 –22. 25 shops to visit in 4 days. Pickup the map/passport at the shop now. Look up the tour details at lystour.com. Follow it on Ravelry. Daily drawings at each shop, free patterns, and 10% off the featured yarn. We love this event and look forward to seeing you again this year!
June: KIP Day (Knit in Public) is scheduled for June 19, Saturday, 11:00–2:00. Please bring your own chair. Parking is free on Saturday. If rain, we have an alternate place right across the street.
SUPER SUMMER SAVINGS SALE to be held June 19, 11:00–6:00.
July: BOSS IS GONE COUPON: Come see the shop and staff while Nancy is gone on vacation. Use your coupon for a summer project! July 19–24.
August: Elizabeth Zimmerman Group will present their knitting projects at a special gathering to celebrate what would have been Elizabeth’s 100th birthday. Come see the fashion show of the wonderfully knitted and handspun projects this group had accomplished this year! Thursday, August 26, 4:00–7:00.

A materials list will be provided for each class with your registration receipt, unless otherwise noted.
- Class fee must be paid in advance to register for classes, no later than 3 days prior to the start of the class. Cancellation of class by student must be prior to 3 days for refund. No refund for class if student cancelled within three days of the start of class.
- Minimum class enrollment : 3 students.
- Please arrive to class 10 minutes prior to the start of class, so class can begin on time.
- Materials list for the class will be provided to each student at the time of registration.
- Please gather/purchase your materials ahead of class time.
- Classes are structured for: (b) = beginner, (i) = intermediate, (a) = advanced.
Private Classes. We know that your times to take a class, and our times offering classes may not always coincide. We offer private class sessions to help accommodate any schedule. And sometimes, it's fun to schedule a class just for YOU and/or your friends! Private classes are $25.00 per hour for one person, $40.00 per hour for 2–3 people, and $55.00 for
4–6 people. Of course, the more the merrier, and you can share the hourly costs!
Groups that meet at the shop:
Knit Night every Tuesday from 5:30 - 8:00 PM. Bring your knitting, crocheting, or spinning projects to work on, bring your finished projects for sharing. Knit night is always a nice break from the routine to work on your projects among friends. Fabulous Group!
Knit Day every Wednesday from 12:00 – 3:00. Same as Knit night, just a great group of folks who like to get together and share about knitting projects. My motto: Come when you can, leave when you must!
Lace Group every THIRD Saturday from 10:00 – 2:00. I'll tell you, this group is not for the faint of heart! This is TATTING, and BOBBIN LACE in all forms, and beautiful! This group loves and shares the history of lace making, and also teaches lace making. If you are lucky, maybe you'll be here on the day, that the antique lace is pulled out and shared! WOW! What a group!
