ANNUAL ANNIVERSARY SALE: October 2, 3, 4: Our anniversary date is October 3rd, and again we have invited the Seattle Gaelic Society up to sing along to waulk and bless the handwoven fabric with us! We do this every year at our anniversary sale. This has become such a wonderful annual event, you won’t want to miss it! Please come, have some shortbread, and “waulk” the fabric with us!

HATS FOR HEAD START!! They are already coming in! Last year you knitted over 475 hats for our local Head Start kids. You can bring in your crochet and knit hats for the winter. It was so great to see you come in with one, two, or in the case of some, BAGS of hats! They are small, and quick to knit up! Remember to use washable yarns. Bring in your hats by Thanksgiving! Thank you!

FOR SPINNERS ONLY: Judith MacKenzie McCuin is scheduled to come back and teach, "Fleece in your Hands" November 7, 8, 9. We will spin and explore a group of different fleeces each day, coarse, medium, and fine wools, including: Shetland, CVM/Rommedale, Blue Faced Leicester, Romney, Border Leicester, Karakul, Merino. $84.00 each day, will include all materials, including a catered meal
Saturday evening. 10:00 – 5:00 each day except Saturday, which will be 10:00 – 9:00. Please bring potluck lunch each day to share with the rest!

Men’s NIGHT OUT at the shop: Monday, December 14th! 6:00 – 9:00 PM. This is a first annual for our shop. Send in your hubby, spouse, partner with your "list" for the holidays and we’ll help them to pick out just the thing on your list! We’ll even keep your list at the shop for you! We’ll have a great time with beer, chips, and other refreshments. Our staff has been planning this night for your guys
for a while, and we are excited to host this special evening for them! Notice the coupon in this newsletter for your special savings for this night!!

FiberTrends Trunk Show: Friday & Saturday, October 30 & 31, 10:00 – 5:00 each day. Bev Gelaskas will be back in town for a 2-day show! Come see the NEW yarns, and NEW patterns, knitted and crocheted samples. Take advantage of the "touch and feel" show. I’m sure Bev will have some special savings for you, too!

Study Groups:
Elizabeth Zimmerman Study Group and Knit Along: A group of us were talking at Knit Night, and decided to do an Elizabeth Zimmerman study group (EZ Group)! Boy were we excited as we talked about which book to use, what our first projects might be! We will meet once a month, with a potluck dinner and video. At the meeting we will decide as a group the direction to take, ie; what projects to work on, what books to read, or chapters, etc. It’s up to us! And from the meetings, we will start Knit Alongs, so we can knit and learn with each other as we go. EZ Group’s first meeting time will be Wednesday, September 23, 6:00 – 9:00. Bring your potluck and your enthusiasm! This is free, but registration is required.

Weaving Study Group: A group for weavers to meet and support each other in the learning process of weaving on 4-8 harness looms. This group will be self directed, but under the leadership of Nancy, the owner of NW Handspun Yarns. This has been a group in the making for a while, and now we can get started! The first meeting will be Monday, September 28, 6:00 – 8:00. Free to all who have
looms and weaving skills. Registration is required.

Mano’s de Uruguay Afghan Knit Along: Meet with Nancy at these two meetings to get started on a beautiful afghan made with Mano’s hand painted yarn. We will follow a book with patterned squares, and you will get to choose your afghan color scheme, and knit along with us as you complete your squares. First two meetings: October 7, 21 5:00 – 6:00. Free, registration is required!

Cookie A, author of "Sock Innovation" and a wonderful sock teacher will be at the shop up in January, offering 2-1/2 day classes!
